Introduction to Climate Sensitive Design with Digital Tools

This course is designed to introduce architecture and urban design students to the principles of climate-sensitive design using Autodesk FORMA.Through a combination of lectures, discussions, and hands-on exercises, students will gain a solid foundation in using Autodesk FORMA to analyze environmental conditions such as microclimate, wind, sun hours etc. and create sustainable architectural or urban design solutions. The course will focus on the analysis of existing structures and the design of the campus north, University of Kassel. Students will apply the knowledge and skills they have learned throughout the course to a final project, which will include modeling and environmental analysis of a building project of their choice.
