The Filterschirm aims toward enabling group work again at the University of Kassel by reducing the infection risk through filtering the air.

Due to the current pandemic situation, all of the working spaces in the university are closed and students can not work in the university  Although there are some regulations trying to allow single person work through the reservations, the group can still meet in the closed space. Therefore, this project focuses on enabling group working by reducing infection possibilities. The project translates the Kabiyon system into architectural space, using a venting machine consist of a Hepa filter and conventional PC fans. Following the DIY construction technique of the venting machine, the canopy is also made out of simple wood construction techniques and functions as a visual room divider. The canopy size is correlated to the fans and HEPA filter and can be extended to 4-6 students.
